Chicago’s bikeshare program, Divvy, has put on a variety of holiday deals since 2013 to get Chicagoans into the holiday spirit. A plus – the promotion gives users a chance to win a free membership.
It’s easy to enter for a chance to win: if you see DIvvy’s special holiday bike – candy-cane red and white stripes, all you have to do is snap a picture and post it to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #HOLIDIVVY. Those who enter the contest will have a shot at winning a free yearlong Divvy membership. Five winners will be announced, and the holiday bike will be featured on the streets of Chicago through the month of December.
This is pretty cool, considering that Chicago was just voted the most bike-friendly city just a couple months back.
Divvy is also running a few different deals through December 2. Check them out here.
The Chicago Sun-Times has compiled a list of great events going on throughout the Chicagoland area during the month of December. Below are some of our favorites:

Congrats to our Stars of the Industry! We want to thank all of our team members and especially the ones recognized last week as the “Stars of the Industry” by the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association.
They are recognized for their tireless efforts in making our guests happy and comfortable. They’re fun to work with and always smiling when they arrive at work.
This past summer, travel bloggers Alex and Karen visited our hotel and had some amazing things to say about their visit.
They enjoyed our eco-friendly decor, comfortable beds, and accommodating location. See what else they had to say:
“A charming oasis tucked away amid the bustling sidewalks of downtown River North neighborhood, Hotel Felix is a hidden gem of sorts, but one that is certainly not to be overlooked.”
“The most important concept associated with all of Hotel’s Felix’s decor, is that they all reflect the hotel’s utmost attention to implementing eco-friendly practices.”
“In fact, the hotel has commissioned three sculptures over the years (Earth Day 2010, 2011, and 2012) made out of found and reclaimed materials: “Loren the Doorman”, made out of recycled pipes, “Madeline, The Baker’s Wife”, and a metal dog named “Scrappy”. Hotel guests still enjoy these works of art today, as they represent the best of what Hotel Felix has to offer: a fun and fanciful spirit.”
