As we’ve talked about in previous blog posts before, we love Divvy bikes! They are a great way for Chicagoans and tourists alike to get around the city and are an environmentally friendly method of transportation, with is something that is important here at Hotel Felix.
Starting tomorrow, Wednesday June 28, in honor of the Divvy’s 4th birthday, the bike sharing program will be featuring a handful of Chicago food-themed bikes – like the Chicago hot dog, our famous deep dish pizza, and of course, birthday cake!
The most popular tour in America is right in Chicago’s backyard – the Chicago Architecture River Cruise has the most popular ratings according to Trip Advisor!
It makes sense, considering Chicago has some of the most beautiful architecture in America (and we’re a little bias) and tours on the river is an excellent way to learn more about what the city has to offer without going through Chicago traffic.

Today it’s #BikeToWorkDay and thousands of people across the country are participating by taking a break from driving their cars or hopping on public transportation.
Last September, Chicago was voted America’s most bike friendly city by Bicycling Magazine, so it’s easy for tourists and Chicago natives alike to take advantage of our city by participating in #BikeToWorkDay.
Divvy, the bike sharing company, is also very prevalent around the city, with more than 580 stations in Chicago, Oak Park and Evanston.
If you’re looking to take a ride today, there is a Divvy station just steps away from our hotel at Wells & Huron Street.
While Chicago has some of the most unique attractions to offer to tourists and locals alike, one of our favorite events that happen every Spring and Summer are the local Farmers’ Markets, which have returned to Chicago neighborhoods. To see a complete guide of Farmers’ Markets, click here.
Not too far from us – a Divvy bike ride away – is the Green City Market, located in Lincoln Park, will be active every Wednesday and Saturday morning from 7 to 10 AM with hopes to “improve the availability of a diverse range of high quality foods, connect local producers and farmers to chefs, restaurateurs, food organizations and the public and to support small family farms and promote a healthier society through education and appreciation for local, fresh, sustainably raised produce and products.”
While many Chicago Farmers’ Markets don’t start until June, it’s easy to take advantage of these events that are happening now.
