Did you know that Chicago is home to one of the biggest Chinatowns in North America? We’re excited to be celebrating Chinese New Year in Chicago this month, beginning February 16 and running though March 4. 2018 is the year of the dog!
Visit the Chicago Cultural Center on Friday, February 16 for a kickoff celebration! The Chinese Fine Arts Society kicks off with dance, music and martial arts. The Chongqing Chuanju Opera Theatre, who will be in town from China, will be giving a special sneak peek of their upcoming performance at Symphony Center on February 17.
The following weekend brings special events to Navy Pier! Their celebration is a family-friendly event with performances, art, food and more to celebrate the year of the Dog. The event will feature performances from award-winning dance troupes and special martial arts demonstrations.
