Chicago Critical Mass is a celebration of bicycles and the fun of riding. Held on the last Friday of every month, Chicago Critical Mass attracts thousands of participants and is open to riders of all skill level and age.  The ride starts out in downtown Chicago, rain or shine, on the last Friday of every month at 5:30 p.m. The group gathers around the Big Picasso in Daley Plaza and typically votes to determine the route. The length of the ride varies by season, but as it warms up they last, on average, three hours.

Want to get involved? From baking brownies for hungry riders to meeting up at a Chicago Critical Mass Happy Hour, there are plenty of ways to get in the action.

Not a big fan of bikes? Rollerblades, skateboards, and even running shoes are welcome modes of transportation for Chicago Critical Mass, they just ask you leave the Segways at home (they pose too much of a danger to other riders).

If you plan to make the trek on Friday, May 27 be sure to take some photos and share with us on Facebook and Twitter.
