  • Crosstown Classic? Stanley Cup? Please…

Posted on July 2nd, 2014 gjordan No comments

Tuesday, July 8th will bring a big showdown in Chicago. Hotel Felix is teaming up with Hotel Cass – a Holiday Inn Express at Magnificent Mile, and playing against The Godfrey Hotel to take down, strike out, and take home The Alley Cup.

  • We’re playing against The Godfrey Hotel in our softball league. The Godfrey Hotel and the Hotel Felix are separated only by an 8 foot alley and for the first time our teams will go head to head to win the rights of The Alley Cup in what we’re calling “The Cross-Alley Classic.”

Yes, this is a new and coveted award and we’re already seeing the chatter on Facebook from both sides – Felix-Cass vs. The Godfrey.

What’s at stake? A lot. First, The Alley Cup will be prominently displayed in the winner’s break room for one year. Plus, and possibly most important – bragging rights! While neither team has the best record in the league, we do have pride. And that means nothing but gloating, bragging and polishing that trophy until next year’s Cross Alley Classic.
