We love Chicago because it’s home to such a diverse group of things to see, eat, drink and do. What’s even better? When these things are free!

Chicago Architecture Biennial
– Chicago hosts the architecture biennial every two years, where architecture and design are the focal point for exhibitions, art installations, and events that highlight Chicago. These events continue until Saturday, January 7, 2018.
Christkindlmarket – More than 50 food and beverage vendors attend and offer German and European treats at one of Chicago’s most classic holiday events. There are also handcrafted ornaments and nutcrackers available to purchase. The event opens on Friday, November 17 and will run through Sunday, December 24.
Chicago’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – The event returns on Thursday, November 2017 and will be taking over State Street from 8am through 11am, featuring floats, marching bands and more.
Lincoln Park Zoo Lights: Lincoln Park Zoo’s annual tradition returns on Friday, November 24 and runs every weekend through January 7, 2018. The zoo will feature lights on display and holiday inspired activities throughout the grounds.

With a mild winter slowly but steadily leaving us, Chicago is offering a huge amount of fun, free things to do in and around the city during the month of February. Thanks to Time Out Chicago for compiling their list of favorites – check out the article here.
Ice Skating in Millennium Park is offered for free until March 6, 2017. You can also receive free skating lessons one hour before opening times – talk about a deal! The view of the skyline can’t be beat. For more information and daily hours, click here.
The Lincoln Park Conservatory is home to over 40,000 plants and is open year round for free – and is right next door to the world famous Lincoln Park Zoo and just steps away from the lakefront! The Conservatory is open daily from 9:00AM to 5:00PM.
Check out Polar Adventure Days – the next one is on Saturday, February 25 at Northerly Island. The 11th annual event returns with birds of prey, Siberian huskies and wolves, tours of the Northerly Island Natural Area and a handful of crafts and snacks. The event runs from 12:00PM to 4:00PM.
