Chicago is a beautiful city to visit in the summer – following are suggestions on what to do in the Windy City.
The gorgeous (albeit hot) weather in Chicago continues! What many might not know is that Chicago is called the “third coast.” And for good reason – we have the wonderful Lake Michigan that’s accessible for all and just steps away from our hotel. With beautiful weather all summer long, there are a number of great activities to do during the warmest months of the year on the lakefront.

The Chicago Air and Water Show
returns this summer on August 20 and 21. Watch from the beach or from a boat and you’re guaranteed to get some great views of the military and civilian pilots. Or, simply walk around downtown Chicago during the Air & Water Show days and you’re bound to see some exciting jets zooming overhead.

The 18-mile Lakefront Trail is a great way to see the city, get some fresh air, and exercise all at the same time. The trail starts in Edgewater and ends in Jackson Park on 71st Street. There are a number of parks, beaches and museums along the way that you can visit. Be sure to check out their individual websites to learn their hours and costs.
We encourage travelers and Chicagoans alike to take advantage of the beautiful weather in Chicago during the summer, because it won’t last forever.
