Earth Day, Earth Stay Weekend: Starting at 12 p.m. on April 6, the discounted Earth Day room rate of just $20.17 per night (exclusive of the Chicago hotel tax), is available to those who reserve a room for a 2-night stay during Earth Day weekend, which falls on April 22 and 23, 2017. Green Groups Save Green: Eco-friendly groups who book and visit our hotel during Earth Month will receive 22 percent off the best available rate if they show any proof of environmental efforts. This special discount is only available for new group bookings during April, May and June 2017. Earth Month Facebook Giveaway: If travelers are feeling extra lucky, they can enter our Facebook giveaway for a chance to win a 2-night stay with us and a $100 gift card to Troquet River North, the delectable French bistro adjacent to our lobby. To enter, answer the question pinned to our Facebook page any time from April 1-15, 2017 for a chance to win. A winner will be selected by Earth Day.
Be Green and Tweet Green: Starting April 1, we will be hosting a Twitter giveaway during Earth Month to encourage travelers to tweet their green tips. From ride-sharing to recycling, anyone who is passionate about the environment can tweet how they are being “green” for a chance to win a 2-night stay at Hotel Felix and a $100 gift card to Troquet River North. The person who tweets the most tips to our Twitter account, @HotelFelix, with #GreenFelix during April 2017 will win. Our management will determine if there is a tie. The giveaway starts at 8 a.m. CT, April 1 and runs until April 30 at 5 p.m. CT. The winner will be announced by May 5, 2017.

In honor of Throwback Thursday, we are sharing an article from USA Today’s 10 Best.
We were honored to make the list of the best Chicago hotels, receiving shoutouts and compliments for our “enriching experience, organic materials, renewable resources and our architecturally unique and historic 1920s facade.”
Here at Hotel Felix, we are happy to see that the One Earth Film Festival is returning to Chicago from March 3-13 for the fifth year in a row.
The One Earth Film Festival will be screening a variety of environmentally focused films that aim to help viewers gain a better understanding of climate change and how humans have the power to help combat it.
Some of the screenings include “Minimalism: A Documentary About Important Things” and “Before the Flood,” which features Leonardo DiCaprio. 12 filmmakers will also be in attendance this year.
Admission to the movies is $6 (the suggested donation) and advanced ticket purchases are highly recommended.

With a mild winter slowly but steadily leaving us, Chicago is offering a huge amount of fun, free things to do in and around the city during the month of February. Thanks to Time Out Chicago for compiling their list of favorites – check out the article here.
Ice Skating in Millennium Park is offered for free until March 6, 2017. You can also receive free skating lessons one hour before opening times – talk about a deal! The view of the skyline can’t be beat. For more information and daily hours, click here.
The Lincoln Park Conservatory is home to over 40,000 plants and is open year round for free – and is right next door to the world famous Lincoln Park Zoo and just steps away from the lakefront! The Conservatory is open daily from 9:00AM to 5:00PM.
Check out Polar Adventure Days – the next one is on Saturday, February 25 at Northerly Island. The 11th annual event returns with birds of prey, Siberian huskies and wolves, tours of the Northerly Island Natural Area and a handful of crafts and snacks. The event runs from 12:00PM to 4:00PM.
